![]() ![]() You don't need a BB tank to grow discus, mine have grown quite a bit. How do you feed red/yellow picky Discus the right foods that make their color pop? Are there any Vitamins any experienced Discus keepers have successfully used to keep them bright and healthy? I've even tried flavoring the foods with garlic) They basically won't eat anything that doesn't stick to the glass of the aquarium like the blackworm cubes. I have color enhancing flakes which they used to eat, but since i've introduced them to blackworms they won't eat the flake food. Obviously they need more of a variation of foods, so will they get their color back if I feed them Beefheart, Brineshrimp, and Blackworms each day? Or do I need to buy a special food? ( I bought the bio discus food but they won't touch it and it just ends up soggy and floating on the water in the corner. ![]() And especially since I purchased a bunch of Blackworms from him and it's all they've been eating lately, it seems like he was just trying to get me to buy more of his special blackworm cubes. I don't really believe him because it seems lacking nutritionally. Just how much color enhancing food do you have to feed them so they keep their color? My Discus guy that I buy them from says he only feeds them Dried Black Worms. They both look like they were dyed or pumped full of hormones. is it just a made up kind of Discus that they mis labelled? Or is it really a Red Melon? The yellow one is so faded, it looks like it was dyed. Everything I've read states that Red Melons have yellow/white faces, and dark fins, this one is obviously a light orange color all over. These two were labelled as Lollipop Discus, and Red Melon Discus. Picture 1: I just got these shipped to me, they looked much more solid colored in the pictures. ![]()
